Office Administrator, Hourly, Part-Time
Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District
Bear Creek Water and Sanitation District has an immediate opening for an experienced, detail-oriented candidate for the Office Administrator position. This is a part-time, non-exempt position. The District office is located at 2517 S. Flower Street, Lakewood, CO 80227, Phone 303-986-3442, District E-Mail: bearcreekwater@bearcreekwater.org. Office Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: The District is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented candidate for the position of Office Administrator. Under the general direction of the District Manager, this position has primary responsibility for the following duties in the District office:
- Front Desk activities including Customer Service, including initial contact and response to telephone calls, water and sewer emergencies and general E-mails
- Receive and Post Cash Receipts
- Receive and Post Utility bill payments, Maintain Customer files in District’s billing system
- Manage the Creation, Maintenance and Retention of District records such as correspondence, official minute books, tap papers, easements, contracts, rules, policies and procedures
- Perform Updates to the District website.
- Cross-Train and Backup Utility Billing Program and Accounts Payable
- Assist with Utility Location Requests and Contractor Licensing
- Enter information into the District’s Asset Management System including contractor licensing, customer call log, emergency contacts and the issuance and maintenance of water and sewer taps
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent time management, organizational, problem-solving, computer and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills with demonstrated professional demeanor
- Strong working competency in the use of computers and the Microsoft Office Suite, with MS Word, Excel, and Access in particular, Experience in Access programming a plus
- Knowledge of ArcGIS a plus
- Basic accounting procedures
- Ability to perform mathematical computations and research
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize tasks and operate independently when needed to ensure efficient office operation and prompt service to the public
- Maintain confidential and personal information
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by seeking out and attending continuing educational opportunities including workshops, conferences and classes
- Establish personal networks and participate in professional societies
- Ability to lift 15 lbs.
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduation required—higher education desired
- Minimum three years of experience in similar position
- Experience in, and understanding of, a water and/or sanitation district strongly preferred.
Work Schedule: 4 days per week; up to 8 hours per day
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Compensation is dependent upon the applicant’s qualifications within the established range from $22 to $26/hour.
